Will a dripless gun really stop all mess?
Quality dripless guns reduce oozing by 90%+, but temperature and material viscosity affect performance. Cold caulk and thin silicones may still seep slightly. The key is instant pressure release, not magic.
Can I use these guns with adhesive tubes?
Yes, all 10oz models handle construction adhesive. For thick epoxy or urethane, choose 18:1 or higher thrust ratios. The JES M26S excels here. Never exceed the cartridge weight rating.
How do I clean my dripless caulk gun?
Wipe the plunger and cartridge cradle immediately after use with a damp rag. For dried material, scrape with a plastic putty knife. Avoid water near the pressure rod mechanism. Annual lubrication of moving parts extends life.
What's the difference between DIY and pro grade?
DIY guns have fixed dripless function and lower thrust ratios. Pro models offer toggle switches, higher thrust, and replaceable seals. For 5+ tubes per year, pro grade pays for itself in reduced waste and hand strain.
Why does my 'dripless' gun still drip?
Either the pressure release mechanism is worn or you're using overly thin material. Try releasing the plunger manually after each pull. If dripping persists, the internal seal is likely damaged—time to upgrade.
