What's the difference between an impact driver and impact wrench?
Impact drivers use 1/4" hex collets for driving screws. Impact wrenches use square drives (1/2", 3/8") for sockets to handle nuts and bolts. The tools in our test are primarily impact wrenches, which can drive screws with adapter sets.
How much torque do I really need?
Lug nuts typically need 500-700N.m to remove. Rusted suspension bolts can require 1000N.m plus. For DIY furniture, 300N.m is plenty. Buy more torque than you think you need—you'll rarely complain about too much power.
Are brushless motors worth the extra cost?
Absolutely. Brushless motors deliver 30% longer run time, generate less heat, and last three times longer than brushed motors. In our tests, every brushless tool outperformed brushed competitors. The price premium has disappeared in the under-$200 category.
Can these impact wrenches remove lug nuts?

What size impact wrench should I buy?

How long do batteries last under heavy use?
