What size space heater do I need?
A 1500W heater covers 150-300 sq ft. For larger rooms, choose oscillating or vortex models. We found the DREO 30" effective up to 350 sq ft in our tests.
Are space heaters safe to leave on overnight?
Only with tip-over protection, overheat shutoff, and cool-touch exteriors. The Vornado AVH10 and JRD models passed our 8-hour continuous safety tests.
How much electricity does a space heater use?
1500W heaters cost $0.18-$0.36 per hour depending on electricity rates. ECO modes reduce consumption by 30-40% once target temperature is reached.
What's better: ceramic or vortex heating?
Ceramic heaters provide fast directional heat. Vortex models like the Vornado circulate air for even room temperature. Choose ceramic for spot heating, vortex for whole rooms.
Can I use a space heater in a garage?
Only ETL or UL certified models with GFCI protection. The BJOP 2026 is specifically rated for garage use with durable construction and safety certification.
Where should I place my space heater?
Position 3 feet from walls and furniture, on a flat surface. Corner placement with oscillation works best. Never use extension cords; plug directly into wall outlets.
