What's the difference between a tool cabinet and cabinet installation clamps?

How much weight can drywall anchors hold for wall-mounted cabinets?
Zero. Never mount tool cabinets to drywall alone. Always screw into studs with 3-inch lag bolts. For the 120-400 lb loads we tested, minimum 2x4 framing at 16-inch centers is required. Toggle bolts fail catastrophically under dynamic tool loads.
Will these cabinets protect tools from humidity?
Sealed steel cabinets like GREATMEET provide excellent moisture protection. Add silica gel packs for coastal shops. Open organizers like POKIPO offer no humidity control. Woodworkers in damp climates should prioritize enclosed cabinets with door seals.
Can I mount these on concrete block walls?
Yes, but you need different hardware. Use 1/4-inch wedge anchors or sleeve anchors rated for 500+ lbs pull-out. The included lag bolts are for wood studs only. Drill pilot holes with a hammer drill and blow out dust before setting anchors.
What's the optimal mounting height for tool cabinets?
Mount the cabinet bottom 48 inches from the floor—high enough to clear benches but low enough to see inside without a step stool. For up-flip doors like VEVOR, ensure 24 inches of overhead clearance when open. Always check for electrical before drilling.
Do I need to assemble these cabinets before mounting?
The GREATMEET and VEVOR cabinets require full assembly (30-45 minutes). The POKIPO organizer ships mostly assembled. Clamps and jigs are ready to use. We recommend assembling cabinets on a flat bench, then mounting the empty unit to reduce wall stress.
